Resumes sent by WhatsApp or picked up from your inbox are now limited to 10 MB

Resumes sent to RecruitIQ over WhatsApp or picked up from a connected inbox in Talent Inbox must now be 10 MB or smaller, the same limit the job board and in-app uploads already use.

What changed

A resume sent to RecruitIQ over WhatsApp, or picked up from an inbox connected to Talent Inbox, now has to be 10 MB or smaller. This is the same limit that already applies to resumes uploaded on a job board and to files you upload inside RecruitIQ.

A file that is exactly 10 MB is still accepted. Anything larger is not added to your candidates.

Why it matters

Very large resume files can be a long run of phone photos saved into one PDF. Reading those files can exceed processing limits. Asking for a smaller copy up front avoids accepting files above the supported intake size; file size alone does not guarantee that a resume can be read.

What you see

On WhatsApp, you get a reply saying the file is over 10 MB, so it was not added, and asking you to send a smaller copy. Nothing is added for that message, so you can simply send the smaller file in the same chat.

In Talent Inbox, an attachment over 10 MB is listed as skipped, with the label “Over 10 MB”. It does not show up as a failure, and the rest of the message and any other attachments are handled as usual.

How to get a resume under the limit

Save the resume as a PDF from a word processor instead of photographing the pages, or use a PDF compressor to shrink the file. If the resume is a set of photos, send fewer pages, or take them at a lower picture quality. Then send it again.

Boundaries to know about

The limit applies only to new resumes arriving by WhatsApp or from a connected inbox. Resumes already in RecruitIQ are not affected. The limit is on file size only, so the number of pages does not matter on its own.
